Item Info
Manufacturer: Heuer Type: Men's Name: Montreal Chronograph REF/CAL: REF.29TAGOLD CAL.12 Material: SS Belt: *There are no logos, etc., so it may be an external leather belt, but it feels old. *I think the genuine SS buckle is probably from that time. Drive System: Micro Rotor Automatic Model: 1970s Case Diameter/Arm Circumference: Approx. 42,2mm Accessories: TAG Heuer Overhaul Details (2019/10) Case Condition: Used A+ as an antique *There are age changes and scratches corresponding to the ages, but as an antique, it is in pretty good condition. Considering the age, it is in a state where there is relatively little feeling of use, and I think it feels good and old. There are many chronographs equipped with CAL.11 or CAL.12 that are good for some reason. I wonder if many of them didn't sell very well at the time and were released later. It is difficult to determine whether or not it has been repolished, but since there are no traces of slimy scratches when observed with a loupe, I think there is a high possibility that it is unpolished. The edges are sharp and firm, and the hairline finish is beautiful. Glass windshields are not particularly scratched, so they may have been replaced during manufacturer overhauls. Fine speckled stains can be seen throughout the dial, but they spread evenly, and it also looks like a dial with such an original finish. I don't think it's unsightly. There is no feeling that this stain has come to light, and I think it is unlikely that it will change over time in an unsightly manner. The night light on the dial and hands has faded to some extent, the dial does not light up in dark places, and the hands glow to some extent. You can feel a slight difference in color between the night light on the hands and the night light on the dial. The needles may have been replaced in the old days, but I don't think they look that uncomfortable. The leather belt does not have a logo, etc., so it may be an external product, but it has an old feel. The SS buckle is genuine and I think it's probably from that time. Warranty: 6 months, arm circumference adjustments, etc.: Comments: *Glass windshield screw back *The inscription “HEUER-LEONIDAS (Heuer Leonidas)” can be seen on the inside of the back cover. “LEONIDAS (LEONIDAS)” is a watch manufacturer founded in 1841. Even now, I sometimes see antique “LEONIDAS (Leonidas)” watches. Heuer and Leonidas merged in 1964. I don't really understand the power relationship between the two brands after the merger, but since the notation “LEONIDAS (Leonidas)” can be seen on the inside back cover, I think Leonidas also had a certain amount of influence, although Heuer led it. *17 stone seismic resistant device, smooth temp cam type, 21,600 vibrations *This movement looks like a hand-wound movement because the rotor is not visible, but it has a micro rotor at the back. The rotor is not visible due to the two-story movement. *Since it does not have a permanent seconds hand, it is a second three-counter chronograph that can measure up to 12 hours. *There is no date fast forward mechanism, but it is possible to advance the date by repeatedly moving the needle forward and backward between around 21:00 and 0:00. *It is equipped with a minor change version CAL.12 (21,600 vibrations) of the world's first automatic chronograph movement, CAL.11 (19,800 vibrations). Also, it seems that CAL.12 has been manufactured since around 1972. *When I did a quick search on the world's first automatic chronograph movement, it looks like the following. The world's first automatic chronograph movement was announced in 1969/3, and the CAL.11 has a two-story structure jointly developed by Heuer, Breitling, and several other companies. The world's first automatic chronograph was released in 1969/5, and it is a model equipped with Seiko's CAL.6139. Zenith's 3019PHC (El Primero) was announced in September 1969, so it doesn't seem like it will be the first in the world, but it's probably the most impactful movement. I think it can be called the world's first all-in-one specially designed automatic luxury chronograph movement.
