It announces a new collection every year at Basel Fair, and they also sets a more severe “Grand Seiko standard” (GS standard) than the Swiss chronometer. Since 2017 it has been developed as an independent brand from Seiko to counter the Swiss luxury jewelry watchmakers. The average sales price for Grand Seiko is ﷼17,090.
