It is one of the oldest Russian watch manufacturers that have continued since the Soviet Union.
The “Moscow No. 2 Watch Factory,” which was established as a state-owned factory by the Soviet Union in 1930, is the founder, and was responsible for most of the production of official military watches during the Soviet period.
Vostok was founded in 1942 based on the “Moscow No. 2 Watch Factory,” which was evacuated from Moscow to Chistopol, a small town on the banks of the Kama River in the Republic of Tatarstan.
In 1961, “Vostok” was the official company name as a state-owned enterprise in honor of Vostok 1, which achieved the world's first manned space flight.
It was in 1965 that it was selected as an official supplier by the Ministry of Defense of the Soviet Union, and in addition to the delivery of the famous Komandaski, which is still famous even now, a development experiment connected to the Amphivia, a stainless steel army watch capable of diving at a depth of 200m, was carried out. It is a famous story that in 1967, the first watch “Amphivia” was manufactured at the watch factory “Vostok” in Chistopol under the orders of the Soviet Navy.
It was re-established as a private enterprise in 1992 due to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, and has continued to the present.

When it comes to wristwatches made in the Soviet Union (USSR), I think many people first think of “Bostok/Komandirskie.”
It's probably because wristwatches became popular in Japan in the 1990s?!
Wristwatches from other manufacturers and products with more designs than other models are sold, and this is the Komandasky watch representing the Soviet Union, which has collectors all over the world.
“Komandirskie” was derived from wristwatches developed under the direction of the Soviet Navy in the latter half of the 1960s, and became popular as an authentic military watch that can be used under the harsh conditions of a battlefield made for Soviet soldiers.
Similar to Amphivia, in Komandaski, there are those with “ZAKA MOU STOSISDURI” and “DESTANOVE” written on the dial.
There are other different notations, but for the most part, these are the two types.
The former means “ordered by the Soviet Ministry of Defense,” and the latter means “made in the Soviet Union.”
The former “ZAKA MOU STOCISS” tends to be regarded as a rare model among enthusiasts as a sign of high quality, but both are said to have not changed in quality.
The period in which it was manufactured was only ten years, and if it became a beautiful individual, the number currently in existence is small, so it can be said that it is a rare wristwatch.
Until the 1970s, it was the Soviet Union that reigned supreme as the world's second-largest watch-producing country after Switzerland.
The country that has taken that position due to breakthroughs in technology is Japan, a producer of SEIKO and CITIZEN.
The period when SEIKO became famous all over the world, such as “Marvel, Crown, King,” is exactly the mid-1960s, a series name that everyone who likes vintage watches knows.

Even if you look at the specifications of the back cover and the detailed shape of the case, etc., it is thought that this product was manufactured in the 1980s.
It's a classic blue/submarine dial, but it's a rare dial with “ZAKA MOO STOCISDURI” printed at 6 o'clock. In Russia, Ukraine, etc., luminous dots are placed on the outside of the Arabic numerals on the dial, but this dial is printed with white dots. Also, the needle is an unusual combination with an arrow needle. It is probably a model manufactured for export in the latter half of the 1980s, when there was a global boom in Komandaski.
The crown, case, dial, etc. have deteriorated over time, but it is a very beautiful watch.
The movement has been overhauled, is working perfectly, is in good condition, and is ticking time energetically.
