Longines

Compagnie des Montres Longines Francillon S.A., or simply Longines, is a Swiss luxury watchmaker based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland founded by Auguste Agassiz in 1832. It developed a wristwatch equipped with an air navigation function for Charles Lindbergh, and was a manufacurer producing its own caliber of chronograph. Produced a lot of military watches delivering the second most used one to the UK during the Second World War. However after the quartz shock and other deteriorating business conditions lost some of its fame. Currently under the umbrella of Swatch Group, Longines manufactures watches with an ETA movement. Albert Einstein loved the Longines's pocket watch. The average sales price for Longines is A$1,855.
